 FUNDED HOSPITALITY COURSE FOR 

ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDERS


Learning Network Queensland are delivering a fully funded program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on the Sunshine Coast. 


The two week program includes both theory and practical learning and covers bar attendant, barista and food and beverage assistant skills.  


The course will take place Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, 28 May to 8 June 2012.


There are eight units of competency (3 core and 5 elective units).  Core units include:

  • work with colleagues and customers
  • follow health, safety and security procedures
  • follow workplace hygiene procedures


Elective units include:

  • clean and tidy bar areas
  • operate a bar
  • provide responsible service of alcohol
  • prepare and serve espresso coffee
  • process financial transactions
