Self-Portrait Competition &
"Anywhere Theatre" Festival Comes to the Sunshine Coast!
A Sunshine Coast theatre group is breaking new ground with its latest production to be staged as part of the Anywhere Theatre Festival here at the Sunshine Coast School Of Photography in May. International artists have mentored local young people to present 2Muse Productions Epiphany, the story of Queenie D, an Alice in Wonderland-type character who is drawn into a fantastical world beyond the mirror. This is the Sunshine Coasts first contribution to the Anywhere Theatre Festival, a Brisbane-based festival for performances anywhere but a theatre so 2Muse Productions co-directors Mary Eggleston and Sue Davis chose our beautiful new space as their performance venue. This idea of performance in really interesting venues works well for Epiphany and the Sunshine Coast School of Photography & Creative Arts at YANDINA is eclectic and inspirational! The performance brings together theatre, video and music to tell a re-energised fairytale-style story. The young people have been working to devise and shape the piece, with characters drawn from circus, vaudeville and freak shows, Ms Davis said. Self Portrait Competition In line with the themes of this youth theatre piece, we are running a self-portrait competition in conjunction with the 2Muse Production Company. Anyone is eligible to entre this competition called The REAL You. Our wonderful photography teacher, Colin Beard will judge entries and a winner will be announced at the final performance on the 19th May. All entries must be submitted to the school by the 11th May. They will be hung and exhibited from the 11th 25th May.
Epiphany will be performed on the 12th, 13th and 19th of May at the Sunshine Coast School of Photography and Creative Arts, 13 Railway Street, Yandina. Phone: 0458 975 993
The show starts at 7:30pm and there will be 5pm matinees on 13th and 19th May as well.
Tickets $22 / $17 concession. Tickets are now on sale through the Anywhere Theatre Festival website http://www.anywherefest.com (For specific details search for Epiphany). For more information regarding ticket sales or the competition contact:
