IGA SUNSHINE COAST CAR RALLY FOR LEUKAEMIA
SUNDAY 29TH AUGUST 2010
The Sunshine Coast has one of the highest rate of patients suffering from luekaemia per capita in Australia.
This is the 4th Year this event has been held. The rally is not a race, but a leisurely mystery tour with entrants required to find their way via questions, clues and checkpoints. The day will kick off with a BBQ breakfast (Gold Coin Donation) and morning tea, lunch and drinks are provided. Families are encouraged and there will be plenty of fun entertainment provided. There are plenty of prizes to be won for best dressed, best dressed car most correct answers and lots more.
This years theme is "Super heroes" - Our local heroes are Super Heroes.
Since this event started in 2007 we have raised in excess of $130000.
By keeping this date free and participating in the Rally, it will be helping people with leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anaemia, amyloidosis and related blood disorders. The Leukaemia Foundation provides essential support services such as accomodation, transport and emotional support which is provided free of charge to patients and their families while they undergo intensive treatment. $55 pays for one car to transport leukaemia patients to and from treatment centres for one day.
