Associate Degree in Business

The Associate Degree in Business provides an alternative entry pathway to a business degree at USC.

In two years of full-time study, you will develop a broad business knowledge, including an understanding of generic business principles.

Bachelor of Business

Program duration: 3 years part-time or equivalent part-time

Commence mid-year: Yes

The Bachelor of Business develops skills applicable to many areas of employment and provides you with a general education on which to build a lifetime career. This degree has seven specialist areas from which you can choose:  Human Resource Management; Information Systems; International Business; Marketing; Management and Strategy; Property and Asset Management; Tourism, Leisure and Events Management.

Bachelor of Commerce

Program duration: 3 years full-time or equivalent part-time

Commence mid-year: Yes

In this program you major in accounting or financial planning and gain skills in business consulting and financial management. First year courses include accounting, management, economics, business law and informatics. Accounting courses include management and company accounting, business finance, taxation law, auditing and contemporary accounting issues. Financial planning courses cover the financial planning process, investment management, superannuation, taxation, insurance, risk management and estate planning. Industry links boost graduate employment.  

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)

Program duration: 1 year full-time or equivalent part-time

Commence mid-year: No

 

In this program you develop an independent style of learning, combined with advanced knowledge in a specific research area. This academic background can give you an advantage in the employment market. An honours program is the main pathway to further postgraduate study, particularly research-focused study. Your studies are supervised by a Faculty of Business academic who has relevant research interests and expertise in your field of study. There is a thesis component.

Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology

Program duration: 3 years part-time or equivalent part-time

The Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology prepares students for a career in the ICT industry. This degree covers popular areas such as security, programming and databases, and assumes no prior knowledge of ICT. Offering specialisation in a number of ICT areas, the structure of the degree allows students to sample from a range of different courses before committing to their specialised area.

Bachelor of Business (Honours)

Program duration: 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time

Application: Direct application to USC

The honours degree offers you the opportunity to continue your undergraduate studies at a high level specialising in your area of interest. Completing an honours degree develops your ability to design and complete a research project relevatively independently within a given time-frame.

Honours is offered in the following areas:Human Resource Management; Information Systems; International Business; Management and Strategy; Marketing; Property and Asset Management; Tourism, Leisure and Events Management.

Diploma of Event Management / Bachelor of Business

Program duration: 3 years full-time

This is a dual award program offered jointly between the USC and the Sunshine Coast TAFE. Specialist areas in business include:

- Marketing

Modules for the the Diploma of Event Management include:
- event concept, proposals, bids and programs
- legal and business practices
- in house functions and outdoor events

Diploma of Hospitality Management / Bachelor of Business

Program duration: 3 years full-time

This is a dual award program offered jointly between the USC and the Sunshine Coast TAFE. Specialist areas in Business are available in the following areas:

Combined or inter-faculty programs, offer you the opportunity to obtain skills in two different but complementary areas, broadening your career opportunities and earning two degrees in a shorter period of time than if you were to study the programs separately.

In this degree you can develop a wide skill base by combining complementary specialisations such as marketing and public health, management and sport and exercise science and more. This allows a business perspective to research or applied science ventures.

Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Science (Sport Management)

This new program has been created to meet the increasing demand for qualified sports managers in South East Queensland (ie graduates with a sound knowledge of business studies, but with a background in the sport and exercise sciences).

Bachelor of Education / Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Education / Bachelor of Business will provide you with the professional studies, knowledge and skills, along with discipline expertise in at least two teaching areas, to teach students in the middle and senior phases of learning.
