Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET)
ACPET is the peak national industry association for private tertiary education providers in Australia. Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF)
AQTF is the national set of standards which assures nationally consistent, high-quality training and assessment services for the clients of Australia’s vocational education and training system. Under the AQTF framework, all providers of VET must be Registered Training Organisations. Many qualifications obtained through the VET sector are aimed at employment in middle-level professional areas in a wide range of industries. Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
The Australian Qualifications Framework is a unified system of national qualifications in schools, vocational education and training (TAFEs and private providers) and the higher education sector (mainly universities). The Framework links together all these qualifications and is a highly visible, quality-assured national system of educational recognition which promotes lifelong learning and a seamless and diverse education and training system. Australian Training Network (ATN)
Jobs Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that operates in all states and territories of Australia. The Australian Training Network was established for Jobs Australia members wanting to deliver nationally accredited vocational education and training. Understanding the National Training Framework and managing compliance with the Australian Quality Training Framework can be costly and time consuming. Group Training
The trades and alternative vocational career paths have evolved into exciting career options - without the HECS debt. Group Training Organisations (GTOs) employ apprentices and trainees and then place them with host businesses until the apprenticeship or traineeship has been completed. GTOs offer careers in most industries including trades such as automotive, construction, electrotechnology and engineering through to service industries such as hospitality, tourism, retail, business and community services. Industry Skills Councils (ISCs)
The 11 national Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) cover the skills needs of most Australian industry. In general terms these organisations work to involve industry with the development of nationally applicable vocational education and training.
ISCs are privately registered companies run by industry-based boards of directors, but whose funding is provided substantially by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. Click here for more info.
National Training Information Service (NTIS)
NTIS is the national register of Vocational Education & Training (VET). NTIS contains information on accredited VET courses, training packages, national competency standards, course providers ad their scope of registration, course copyright owners and accreditation authorities. Skilling Australia Initiative - Productivity Placements Program
This Program provides an opportunity for people to improve their skills so they can find employment. It provides new training places in skills shortage areas. Certificates II, III and higher level qualifications are available. If you are unemployed and registered with an employment service provider (a Job Network or Disability Employment Network), you can discuss with them the possibility of obtaining a referral to a training organisation. If you are not registered with an employment service provider, you need to apply directly to a participating training organisation. Full-time students and people who are self-employed are not eligible fot the program. Click here for more info.

Tuition Assurance
The Australian Student Assurance Scheme (ASTAS) has been established by ACPET (see link above) to ensure that domestic students displaced from any course conducted by an ACPET member participating in ASTAS, due to a member's inability to continue the course, will be relocated with minimal disruption to a comparable course.
